10/09/12 Granuflo Lawsuit FDA Recall News: A class one Granuflo FDA Recall was issued as a result of link between Granuflo and a significantly increased risk of heart attacks. The FDA Class One Recall effected lots or batches of Granuflo manufactured between 2008 and 2012.
The Granuflo Class 1 FDA recall is somewhat unusual. Obviously the majority of Granuflo product manufactured more than a year ago has probably already been used. In addition, there is questions as to whether or not it is the intent of the FDA to actually have the manufacturer of Granuflo actively recall the product in question and remove it from the market, or if the recall only requires the manufacturer to better educated medical personnel that administer Granuflo regarding proper use of the product.
The FDA has previously instructed the maker of Granuflo to inform and educate medical personnel as to the proper use of Granuflo after the FDA received reports of heart attacks caused by Granuflo. In a recently filed Granuflo Lawsuit it is alleged that the makers of Granuflo were instructed by the FDA to make dialysis clinics that used Granuflo aware of the link between Granuflo and heart attacks. However, it is also alleged that the maker of Granuflo did not follow the instructions of the FDA but instead only communicated information regarding the link between Granuflo and Heart Attacks to dialysis clinics in which it held a financial interest.
Allegations filed in a Granuflo Lawsuit have been indicating that Granuflo was well aware of that Granuflo was causing a significant increase in the risk of heart attack among dialysis patients that were treated using Granuflo.
