Mega Millions Washington Winner Claims $190 M Prize

Jim McCullar, one of the US lottery winners, claimed his Mega Millions jackpot prize of $190 million in Washington.

McCullar acquired the second-largest jackpot prize in the lottery history of the US. He received a giant cheque, which has been awarded by the Washington State Lottery Director Bill Hanson in Olympia, Washington, today.

McCullar is a 68-year-old guy who lived in Ephrata, Washington with his wife Carolyn MacCullar, 64. Was married for more than 40 years He was father of six and has more than 20 grand children. He was working as a real estate agent, and one of the luckiest people who picked the lucky winning numbers in the Mega Millions drawing last Tuesday. He and his wife cannot believe the fortune they received.

He and the other winner from Idaho are going to share equally the $355 million jackpot winnings in the previous draw.

However, lottery officials said that the other winner of the lottery still not contacted them for verification and to claim his prize.

The McCullar couple shared their experienced on how they purchased their tickets. Jim said in an interview that it was his wife’s idea to buy a couple of lottery tickets on their shopping in Safeway last Sunday.

The winning numbers used by the couple were very significant for them. It was merely based on their birthdays.  The numbers that have been drawn in the lottery jackpot were: 4, 8, 15, 25, 47 and the Mega Ball 42.

Aside from winning the jackpot prize, the couple’s second ticket also won small prize of $150 for winning four numbers on the lottery.

The Safeway store where the couple purchased their ticket will receive $ 50,000 cash.

FB Rules on Malaysia’s Online Media of the Year

Facebook reigned as the most favored digital media domain in Malaysia’s Online Media of the Year 2010 survey.

Digital marketers in Malaysia choose FB to top the top ten lists of digital media portals released by Advertising + Marketing magazine (A+M) garnering a 43.9 percent  votes on the survey.

The second and the closest rival of the largest social networking site in the lists is the Star Online. The media portal received an 11.4 percent of votes from marketers, which surpassed the popularity of Google that ranked third with its 9.9 percent votes.

Other media platforms are Yahoo! MY and MSN MY, which received five percent and 4.6 percent correspondingly on fourth and fifth place.

The following are the ranked sixth to tenth among the Malaysian marketer’s choice.  iProperty on sixth with two percent and Malaysiakini on seventh at 1.7 percent vote, followed by Lowyat with 1.3 percent on ranked eight, while YouTube and Twitter tied in the ninth place with 1.1 percent, and The Edge for one percent  to seal the top ten.

According on Google Analytics, there were 4.6 million unique visitors for all portals under The Star Online roof last August.

A+M magazine said that The Star success was due to its aggressive campaign of providing their advertisers of some unique packages with branded content through sponsorship campaign with ICI, Maxis, Sime Darby, Pemanis, and Giant.

In 2009 Online Media Survey of the Year, FB was on the fourth ranked, while Google tops the survey, and Yahoo was on the second place, and The Star Online ranked third.

Defense Secretary to cancel orders of F-35 jet

On the demonstration, Sinofsky showed PowerPoint, Word, and High definition video that is run on a ARM chipset prototype from NVIDIA.

Mega Millions: Creates 2 Jackpot Winners

The Mega Millions drawing on Tuesday, January 4, 2011, created two jackpot winners.

Sea Shepherd attacks Japanese whaling fleet

The militant advocates from Sea Shepherd, an international group, attacked the Japanese whaling fleet during a mission in the Antarctic.

Uden Confirms British Movie Broadcast in NK on Twitter

Martin Uden, the British Ambassador in South Korea, confirmed on his Twitter page the broadcast of “Bend It Like Beckham” movie in North Korea.

Uden said in his tweet that it was the first ever Western-made film broadcasted across North Korea. The movie was originally released in the UK in 2002, and was aired in North Korea last December 26.

North Korea has been known as one of the isolated countries due to its self-reliant dictator leader Kim Jong-Il, who wanted to isolate North Korea from the outside world.

Although there is no available North Korean ambassador to confirm the airing of the movie, the move to air the movie publilyc is one of the best things that ever happen in the country. It is considered as a monumental event that initially pushed the North Korea to interact to the outside world.

The original 112 minutes run of the movie, was cut down to 104 minutes of airing due to some necessary editing to broadcast the film.

The event is a rare thing to happen in North Korea, its state television usually airs hagiographies of its leaders, and also the images of their army, model villages, model farms and some animations.

Moreover, Mr. Uden said that the broadcast of the film was arranged by the British embassy, and during the film airing, a message was posted saying that the film was being aired to commemorate the 10th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Great Britain and North Korea.

It was the first time that the Korean country made a film showing for their people as a part of diplomatic anniversary.

Last week, Prime Minister Julia Gillard visited the affected areas and pledged to provide relief assistance to the communities that have been badly hit by the flooding. On Monday, US Secretary of State Hilary Clinton likewise said that they will continue to monitor the situation and will provide rescue aids to the flood victims.

In Rockhampton, an approximated 500 homes were evacuated and police officials have listed a record of about 200,000 people affected by the flooding. Weather forecast said that the flood heightened due to a monsoon rain, which has caused rivers to spill their banks and reach record levels. The flood has also paralyzed airport operation in the city, which has marooned 75,000 travelers.
