Proposed penalties total $148,000.” And in 2013 one news report in The Register Guard says “State occupational safety and health regulators fined McKenzie-Willamette Medical Center and a Utah-based general contractor each more than $25,000 for improper handling of asbestos during renovations last year to the Springfield hospital’s second floor.”

Should these employers if the allegations and reports are true not have to take responsibility for their actions and the possibility they cost some people their lives?
